We are partnering with a well-established and purpose-led financial services organisation to appoint a Company Secretarial Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised governance professional to join a collaborative Secretariat team, supporting corporate governance, regulatory compliance and company secretarial activities across a highly regulated environment. About the Role
Reporting to the Company Secretary, you will support the delivery of effective corporate governance and regulatory compliance across the organisation and its subsidiary entity. You will play a key role in supporting management committees, maintaining statutory records and filings, and ensuring governance processes operate efficiently and in line with regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as secretary to a portfolio of management committees, coordinating agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking to ensure meetings run effectively.
- Prepare and review committee and governance papers, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete and aligned with governance standards.
- Maintain statutory registers, shareholder records and legal documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Support regulatory submissions and filings, including Companies House filings, governance returns and SMCR-related administration.
- Assist with maintaining governance policies, delegated authorities, committee terms of reference and other governance framework documents.
- Support governance reviews, committee effectiveness assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records within board portals, governance systems and document repositories.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance and senior management teams.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the wider Secretariat function.
What We Are Looking For
- 1–3 years’ experience within a company secretarial, governance, legal administration or related role, ideally within financial services.
- Experience supporting committees or boards, including the preparation of agendas, papers and minutes.
- Understanding of corporate governance principles and company secretarial practices.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience using board portals, governance systems or legal entity management platforms would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Companies House filings, statutory compliance, SMCR or FCA/PRA-regulated environments would be beneficial.
- Progress towards, or interest in studying for, CGIUKI qualifications or equivalent (Desirable).
