Assistant Company Secretary
North-West | Hybrid, 2 days in office (with occasional travel)
We are partnering with a fantastic business with a global reach to recruit an Assistant Company Secretary to join its collaborative governance function.
Working closely with an experienced governance team, you’ll play a key role in delivering effective governance while helping to drive continuous improvement across the function. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior governance professional looking for that next step up, or experienced Executive Assistant with significant Board exposure looking to move into a corporate governance focused role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and delivery of Board and Committee meetings, including agendas, Board packs, meeting logistics and action tracking.
- Attend Board and Committee meetings, producing accurate minutes and supporting follow-up actions.
- Manage governance calendars, statutory deadlines, company records and filings.
- Support subsidiary governance and liaise with external advisers where required.
- Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, including Chairs and Non-Executive Directors.
- Maintain secure digital governance environments and support the ongoing improvement of governance processes and systems.
What We’re Looking For:
Skills & Experience
- Previous Company Secretarial, governance or Executive Assistant experience with significant Board exposure.
- Experience preparing Board documentation and taking accurate Board or Committee minutes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and handling confidential information.
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills; experience with Board portals or Company Secretarial qualifications would be advantageous.
