We have been instructed by a leading financial services organisation to appoint an Assistant Company Secretary to join its Corporate Governance Office on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The role will provide governance support to the organisation’s governance bodies, subsidiaries and wider business, with a focus on regulatory and statutory compliance and the application of governance best practice across the Group.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide governance advisory support to governance bodies, subsidiaries and the wider business.
  • Advise on corporate and internal governance matters, including the Listing Rules, DTRs, MAR and UK Corporate Governance Code.
  • Contribute to the annual report and financial statements programme.
  • Support new business and legislative developments and projects.
  • Work closely with senior management, Board members and colleagues across the business and wider Group.

 

What we’re looking for

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive Company Secretarial and corporate governance experience gained within a listed company or financial services environment.
  • Qualified as a Chartered Secretary, Lawyer or through another relevant professional qualification, or with an appropriate level and length of relevant experience.
  • Good working knowledge of the Companies Act 2006, UK Corporate Governance Code and PRA/FCA governance requirements.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally within financial services.
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage with and present to senior executives and Board members.
  • Degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline would be advantageous.
  • Membership of CGI or an equivalent recognised professional body would be advantageous.

  • Able to manage competing priorities effectively.
