Overview
We’ve been instructed by a growing specialist professional services firm to recruit a Qualified Governance Professional to join their established governance team.
Our client is open to meeting with candidates who have recently qualified with the CGI, or those at a more senior level who hold the full qualification. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious governance professional to work with a diverse portfolio of listed, regulated, charitable and private sector clients, providing high-quality company secretarial, governance and corporate compliance support.
Operating in a fully remote role, you’ll work closely with boards and senior stakeholders, lead client relationships and contribute to a wide range of governance projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted adviser to clients on company secretarial, governance and corporate compliance matters.
- Attend and support board and committee meetings, preparing high-quality minutes and advising on governance best practice.
- Build, manage and develop strong client relationships across a varied portfolio.
- Draft and maintain governance frameworks, corporate policies and board documentation.
- Support clients on governance projects including corporate transactions, restructures, share reorganisations and board effectiveness reviews.
- Deliver company secretarial support across listed, regulated and private organisations.
- Contribute to the leadership and development of the governance team, promoting collaboration and high standards of client service.
What We’re Looking For
- CGI qualified with demonstrable experience in a company secretarial or governance role, either in-house or within professional services.
- Strong working knowledge of the Companies Act 2006 and UK corporate governance principles.
- Proven experience supporting boards and committees, including preparing board papers, minute taking and governance advice.
- Experience working with listed companies, regulated organisations or professional services clients would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of the UK Listing Rules, Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules, UK Corporate Governance Code and/or QCA Code is beneficial.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with a commercial, client-focused approach.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities while delivering a high standard of service.
