Governance Manager – Housing Association

£60,000 - £70,000

We’ve been instructed by a well‑known housing association based in the North West who are seeking a Governance Manager reporting to a Director of Finance. There is an urgent requirement to fill the role on a fixed‑term contract before the first week of February, and the role has the possibility of being made permanent. You will need to be an experienced professional passionate about governance, compliance and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. As Governance Manager, you will lead a Governance team and ensure all regulatory and statutory obligations are met. The position can offer remote working with the expectation that you travel for meetings and other key events. Responsibilities:

  • Shape and drive improvements in governance, regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  • Provide expert guidance to the Executive Team, Board and Committees, developing robust senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Lead the risk and assurance management framework, delivering confidence through rigorous review and oversight.
  • Maintain and develop a governance and regulatory framework identifying opportunities and risk to facilitate long-term planning.

Key Experience

  • Innovative and can introduce new approaches and drive continuous improvement in all aspects of governance, regulation and compliance.
  • Will champion a collaborative and high-quality Governance Business Partnering service across the organisation.
  • Keeps well informed of best practice and regulatory and legal changes, adapting governance strategies proactively.
