We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, values-driven housing association in South East London to recruit a Head of Governance, Risk & Assurance. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity within a regulated, not-for-profit organisation managing approximately a large number of homes across South East London and Kent. The organisation provides general needs housing, supported housing, and a growing shared ownership and leasehold portfolio. With a strong commitment to governance and compliance, it is widely recognised as a positive and supportive place to work. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and leading a small specialist team, this role will shape and strengthen the organisation’s governance, risk and assurance framework at a strategic level. Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Act as principal governance adviser to the Board and Committees
- Lead the development and ongoing enhancement of the governance framework
- Oversee risk management, internal controls and assurance processes
- Ensure regulatory compliance within a highly scrutinised sector
- Take responsibility for performance reporting and data integrity
- Act as Data Protection Officer
- Provide constructive challenge at Executive and Board level
Experience and Qualifications
- Significant experience in governance, risk and assurance
- Strong understanding of corporate governance and regulatory compliance
- Experience supporting Boards and Committees

- Exceptional attention to detail, pragmatic, and solution-focused
- Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to create long lasting relationships with stakeholders across every level of an organisation
- Ability to work well autonomously and as part of a team
