Company Secretary (Part-Time) – Charity

Overview
We are currently supporting a fantastic UK Charity in their search for a part-time Company Secretary, on a 3-days per week working pattern. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will act as a key advisor to the Trustee Board and the senior management team.
Please note that candidates should ideally be able to start in the role at relatively short notice, if successful.
Key role and responsibilities
- Ensure a strategic and proactive approach to governance arrangements, enabling the organisation to operate as effectively as possible
- Provide sound, well-researched, and impartial advice and guidance to the Trustee Board and its committees
- Facilitate effective communication on governance matters between the Chair, the CEO, and the Executive Team
- Support the Annual General Meeting (AGM), including drafting resolutions and the agenda, and coordinating the circulation of notices to external stakeholders
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience acting as Company Secretary and supporting the main Board/Trustees
- Good working knowledge of company and charity laws and applicable regulations
- CGI qualification would be desirable, but not essential should the candidate be qualified by experience

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, interacting effectively at senior management/executive and Board Level
- Strong ability to build and sustain strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
