The role criteria

  • Extensive experience working in a Portfolio Management Office setting (around 10 years or more)
  • Experience designing and embedding portfolio governance and management disciplines, including planning, forecasting, dependency management and risk processes
  • Knowledge and experience of capacity planning, estimation and forecasting processes
  • Knowledge and experience of portfolio configuration, document and information management processes and tools (for example, MS Planner)
  • Knowledge and experience of portfolio quality management processes
  • Experience influencing and coaching senior stakeholders and delivery teams to support value‑centred prioritisation
  • Ability to analyse, assure and report on portfolio performance to support governance and decision‑making
  • Ability to support teams in applying agile, value‑centred ways of working and using data‑driven insights

You will:

You will play an important role in helping The Pensions Regulator deliver meaningful change that benefits savers and strengthens the wider pensions system. You will establish and embed clear, consistent portfolio management processes that support effective, value‑focused delivery across the organisation. Working closely with colleagues and senior stakeholders, you will help prioritise initiatives, making sure resources are directed to the work that delivers the greatest impact and aligns with strategic outcomes.

You will analyse performance, provide assurance, and share clear insights that support informed decision‑making. This includes tracking whether intended benefits are realised and offering guidance where outcomes may be at risk. Through collaboration and coaching, you will support teams to adopt agile, value‑centred ways of working that improve how quickly and effectively change is delivered. The role offers ongoing opportunities to learn, influence and contribute to better ways of working, helping the organisation continuously improve how it delivers value for the people it serves.

The team

The eVMO (Enterprise Value Management Office) team helps TPR align strategy to delivery, ensuring that change and delivery effort are focused on the outcomes that matter most. Working across teams, we provide the frameworks, insight and challenge needed to prioritise effectively, measure value and make evidence-based decisions. By connecting strategy, execution and outcome measurement with delivery, eVMO supports TPR in delivering greater impact, adapting to changing priorities and embedding a value-centric culture across the organisation.
